Did'nt they have a digital clock in that left hand opening in the UK. Nice place to put an aftermarket tachometer. You'd have to cut the hole to the size you need, & cut away the plastic housing behind it, but it would mean the tacho was in your line-of-sight. Though having a stock A12 in an Auto, they dont exactly drive hard. Putting an A15 in front perks them up nicely. I also notice your missing a common feature of all Australian B310's. The top of the rear seat squab isn't broken up & faded. Australian UV's at work. yeah!
