4K for an A12 really??

OK I try not to make comments about what people ask on Ebay but this one got me. 4K for an A12 that appears to be mostly stock, with the exception of sidedrafts............note 12 on the bolts. This is one I was almost tempted to ask the seller if they did any research, this price is more than people are asking for full race A12 motors............OK feel free to flame me but I had to comment.

if they have gone to the trouble of getting the carbs and extractors for the engine Im wondering what other goodies might be inside the engine?? Could be a big bore A12 A13??

ive seen much worse on ebay, it at least has the mint vintage appeal. i think its cool, its just a shame its only an a12

sidedraught i feel the same way. that thing is sweet. i cant see in the photos, is the dizzy at the front or in the middle of the motor ?

Now reduced to $2000. It appears to have the Excel "Sunny Power Kit" installed. The new price seems reasonable, the problem is the shipping cost. Seems it's now just a plain stock a12 for $2000... Pretty expensive crate if you ask me!

Doh! missed that. Rebuilt A12s have been going for $400-$1200.
And this one won't fit a B110 as it is a newer style A12. It will fit a 1979-1982 Datsun B310, or can be swapped into a B110 1200 with fabricated motor mounts.

Wow, up to $1200 in the US?
Shipping from Australia might be an option for that money considering the current weak Aussie dollar. There are 1 or 2 rebuilt a12s on eBay right now for around $500AUD which don't seem to be moving.
