8 inch Ford are easier to source, LSDs easily available and has an affordable aftermarket Currie Ent. Alloy carrier available to cut the weight down unlike Hilux and BW diffs which are heavy and contradict the iconic rep of Datsuns being Light and nimble.

Check out my thread "what a lovely rear end"

350 hp below 5000 RPM, go with the 9"

Above 5000 RPM a smaller, lighter diff will work, like one of the larger BW units.

hey Mcdat Just from what i kno of H190 7.49 ~285 lb. ft,
A 400HP engine with 275 lb ft torque could get by with a much smaller diff than a blown 400HP engine with 500 lb ft torque.

Borg Warner for sure.
They're very plentiful, LSD's readily available and lot's of off the shelf centres and ratios around.
Yes they're heavy but it will take a lot more than 350HP to wreck one.

Ive got a borgie 78 in mine never had a problem with around 300hp. Plus there are plenty of them in 8-9 sec vl's falcons ect so will be plenty strong enough
