Im new to datsuns and and more the issue, new to carbys.
Got a standard A12 1200 ute, B120 here in perth that needs lotsa tlc. Trying to get her running better and in particular stop coughing and hesitating on accel. There are pics at bottom of post i hope they work. Just found this bolt sitting in carby. I can see where it goes but do i just loctite it and how many turns would i screw it in. What does it do Other than that, Ive got this pipe coming out of the air filter enclosure. Can i just block it off? Would i have been losing vacuum from there? Next there is a cable that was running from my coil to the carby that has broken. I will repair but wondering its purpose? Next.. My vacuum diaphram on the dizzy is leaking and stuffed. Do i have to bend over a nissan for a new one or is there other option? oh.. and i went to 4 shops today to find new hoses for PCV no good. Nissan again ? Oh.. and what is the intake manifold and how many millions of dollars is it worth. I got it in a box of spare parts.

Do i have to bend over a nissan for a new one or is there other option? * You can buy them aftermarket from an auto part spares store * You can plug the hose and keep driving it w/o the advance working. It will run very good, but fuel economy will be down a bit. * You can use an alternative advance module that costs less. Nissan has units from $30 to $80. What is the part number on the side of your distributor? You can view topic.
