Engine removal tips/Paint

Hey all, The little A12 is coming out tomorrow so I can spray the bay, I want a fairly good job, but i don't want to remove wiring harness, brake booster, or brake lines, everything else will be out.
Also, looking at painting the engine and parts when it is out, thinking about using a pedestal wire wheel on things like, alternator regulator, wiper motor and timing cover, then just doing a clear coat over the top so it doesn't rust/corrode, painting block and rocker cover as close as i can to stock, also the air filter. Not sure if i should remove manifolds to paint, or leave them on and mask/news paper. Has anyone ever done something similar to this before and have tips/tricks ideas, that they would like to share? Any positive input is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Zak

Use alfoil to mask hard to mask stuff like electrical wires and cables. It's a lot easier to work with than paper in these areas. You will get a better job removing manifolds. But keep in mind you might need to replace gaskets

You might want to remove the oil pressure sensor as it is easily damaged when removing the engine.
Take you time with it, Good luck.
