got this 5 speed and trying to work out what it is.
All I come up with is that L4 means 4cyl L,series motor.
Nmca is Nissan motor cars Australia.

No other codes on it at all.
Was supposed to be 5 speed stumpy but all I can find are 2 Ozdat articles from 2001 and 2006.

Any one seen or had one of these before or can help identify it.

Are you able to remove the cover inside the bellhousing, and measure the spacings between the mainshaft, and the cluster? I was told once that's how nissan boxes are catagorised. (ie 56, 60, 63, 71)

It's just a bloody bell housing Mik. It's a standard R30 5 speed bell housing. Stop your whining and bring a 63a over for repairs. I've never met such a procrastinator.
