does increase in rpm increase power?

hi i was just thinking my A12 a the moment is fairly stock just with a weber 34/34 and extractors and it's max rpm is at 6200rpm.
the engine dosnt do much after 5000rpm but make noise so if you where to leave it as it is and just change the valve springs (double valve springs), will their be a power increase with the increase in RPM or will it still feel dead at 5000rpm and just rev with no power increase? or is it that it makes no power above 5000rpm because of valve spring bounce? Thanks!

I would be looking at a performance camshaft rather than uprated springs, but the two do go hand in hand. Performance springs will not help your revs too much if you are using the same cam. So you get valve bounce at 5000 rpm? That is bad.

i dont get valve bounce at 5000rpm just dosnt make power above it.
i thought that it valve bounces at 6200rpm which limits it's ability to rev further. dont think it the carby stopping it from reving over 6200 RPM could be the cam? so with stock cam and just changing springs it should rev a bit more but will it make more power at the higher rpm or do you require a different cam and ported head? Thanks!

id say just changing the springs will not make it have any more power up high in the rev range, as i doubt you would be experiencing valve float at 5000rpm

If anything, just uprating the springs might cost you some power as they are now more difficult to actuate. Also fit a reprofiled cam otherwise there is no point.

More revs might get more power with right Cam but a series need torque. Can only drive high rpm on track pretty pointless for a streeter
