hey everyone ,im having some problems with my solex carbs on my a15 ,was driving it today and it was running mint ,then suddenly it would start bogging under throttle ,sounded like the key was turned off and the throttle depressed
so we pulled over and popped the bonnet ,one of the jet covers came loose and came off while driving ,this shouldnt effect the opperation of the carbs then i tried starting it again and it started eventualy ,and idled fine then i tryed revving it and it would bog again ,so i decided to try and limp it home ,as soon as we got onto the road we putted along then tryed flattening it ,and it just pulled ,spun second just rolling on it but then started playing up shortly after checked the fuel pressure and its at 4psi only thing i can think of is a jet being blocked but it wouldnt stall or just drop power all together would it? it would just run on 3 also thinking it could be plugs ,or them giving up when they get hot as im running bp4es ngk plugs in and enginewith 12:1 comp ,which is one hotter than stock ,ive got bp6es plugs for it so ill try them but its wierd for it to just do it suddenly anyways if anyone can help that would be great :)

Not likely to be the plugs.
This can happen with any carburetor, including the stock Hitachi. Sounds like a jet got block, some crud got into the fuel bowl. Rinse out the fuel bowls and she'll be right. And make sure they are finger tight. If they cover got loose, so could the jets.

Hey Jesse,
I remember having the exact same problem with my old 2TG Celica. DD is right mate, check your needle seats for tightness underneath the jet covers, as they do have a tendency to come loose. P.S. Any luck with sourcing another ute body yet? Kdogg may have one, but there might be cancer...
