Are you asking about a 63-series gearbox?
The 63A is a 5-speed, and comes with different front case halves: either L-series or A-series front case. There are several mods that need to be done. Since the L-series version is more common and more available, no one converts A-series versions to L-series.

It can be done. although the input shaft is smaller on the A series and will require a special machined bushing.
Don't say no one does this David :) I am... anyway i am still uncertain as to the proper input shaft length. will know more soon

You are converting an A-series box to use on an L-series engine?

heya Bluey, that just seems like a wrong thing to do,
L series easy to get hold of, A series 5 speeds, somewhat hard to find, and expensive..

Blue max if you have a 63a bell housing an are trying to convert it to l series, I woul happily trade an l series bell house if not a full box for that 63a bell housing!!!!

Yes, and in USA, the L-series 63A is more common than the A-series.
I was wrong in saying that no one converts A-series versions to L-series. There is one person doing so and several people who discussed it in the past. You can view topic.
