mrbarista Posted on: 2013/2/26 10:33
slowly starting to collect bits and pieces for a ca conversion.currently running l20b with stumpy gbox in my 1200 ute. unknown tailshaft and stock diff. bought the ute converted. Doing the conversion bit by bit as its my daily at the moment.

what are the chances that i can get the ca in with the current driveline?
anyone done this before?

what year is your ute? I reckon you should put the CA in and I'll take the crappy slow L20, stumpy box and x-member off your hands ;)

A cam really wakes the old L series up, and is alot cheaper than a CA conversion.

A month ago you were raving about how hard the L series went! lol

forgot to add, pretty impressed with how hard it goes with the l20b!
ive had a 180b and worked 120y before but this really hammers!
Thought i would struggle after selling my sweetly modded legnum vr4
but the fun factor is 100 times better and alot more of an engaging drive!

You got a side draft on there, if it's stock Cam not going to be a fire breather, Cam will wake it up a bit but you will still get used to it over time, that's when you focus on handling and brakes more so. It's never going to be a 1/4 mile king but will handle the hills more
