#1 Kermit the beat up Sedan

Not fully committed but starting on this as a restore project....

I suppose it's a continuation of the 'Butcher or Build' thread until I decide that it is outside my skill level.

pulled the front off over the weekend - almost literally - hammers / chisels / hitting chisels with hammers / hitting knuckles with hammers ..... same old same old

Removed drive train, radiator front support panel and lower rail (seems to have had a badly repaired bump on the drivers' side)

It's a bit of a mess - you have to butcher before the build.

Here's some pictures

Just shows how thin the metal was to start with. Doesn't look unrepairable from that. Dig into the foot Wells under dash and Sills. Decide from there. A pillars also a pita.

Update your signature too ... Ute DONE

Dash is easy to go back in ... just fiddly getting the heater controls right - do that before you bolt it all up while you have some wiggle room

You have a room to wriggle in? I can't even get a wriggle on.

love it, so what are the plans for this? Tough A series for the occasional burn around a track or what?

Spent the day poking holes in it.

rust rust rust. not slabs of it, just bits in all the usual places

Pulled all the panels and doors off and gave it a bit of a clean inside

Pushed out the big dint near the petrol filler and a few more inside the boot and on the roof - man, did the previous owner take to the paddocks on this poor little datto!

I suppose now I am going to have to get the welder out and try not to make too much of a mess

pics to follow

Nothing a grinder can't clean up before spray putty
