#1 S14 brake booster
srdatsun Posted on: 2014/1/30 10:27
Ok I have sr20 in the 1200, soon itb's are going to go on soon..

I've got 280zx brakes on the front and Camry discs and rotors on the rear, no booster running 7/8 master and while braking it feels to hard for my liking and was thinking of running a booster, I don't want it to soft, need some sort of feel. Dilemma is if I ran a booster I don't want the master to get in the way of the ram tubes.

So was originally going to use 120y booster it has a fairly small diameter diaphragm (4.5in if I recall? Pls correct me) anyway it seems to thick, then I've seen s14 5 speed non abs booster and it's really thin but diameter is larger I think 7 or 7.5in. Larger diameter but thinner, is that the same as smaller diameter but thicker?

Ultimate question, is this booster to big??? Anyone tried it..worse case I'll do some leg presses at the gym

youll have to space it out from the firewall due to the length of the pushrod, so might not fit so easily. Best off finding one from a newer 1200/1400 ute

Too big
U
I would change to a 11/16" master. Less pedal effort.

11/16 is the original size for a 1200
try that or 13/16 without a booster

I used 11/16 with 4 pot sumitomos and drums no booster. 13/16 with 4w disks should be fine. 1200 dont need a booster as so light. I even want to rid my stanza of it as it robs pedal feel.
