Hi all, long time no speak!
This place hasn't changed a bit haha Im currently on the hunt for a nice cheap to run daily driver, 40km round trip to work etc And of course I cant shake the urge for a 1200 So what are they worth these days.. is Finding a ute (preferably), in reasonable nick, needing a tidy up and general reapairs for rego for around the $1500 mark reasonable? Or have I been out of the loop for too long? Even a decent condition roller needing only engine and box id consider. Im in far north NSW/SE QLD area... so if you have something that fits the bill throw me a pm. Cheers Wardy

I've been looking for a new project for sometime now and can't get anything for $1500 that's even close to being drivable. I think unfamiliar is bang on. Go a 1000, they are better, cheaper but harder to find.
Jumping on them quick is the key. One came up is Tassy for around $3500. It's was very clean, granny spec with original log books. It lasted a few hours on gumtree. I went to ring to guy and the ad was gone.

To be fair Wardy, I'm looking for something clean with very little rust or body damage.
I think the problem is these guys that put a price tag of 22k to 25k for a converted datto or 15k for a tidy A series. They never ever sell for that but every body that owns a 1200 think they are sitting on a gold mine. I've been watching the same Datto's being advertised for 12 months, dropping the price every few months.

Yeh that's fair enough mate, understand completely. And at the end of the day they are only worth what someone will pay.
Im not looking for anything too flash to be honest, as long as its structurely sound, complete (beside engine and box) and not falling in half im interested. I think there are even a few for sale that were advertised a couple of years ago when I decided to have a look lol

Ok so I got onto the Wagon roller, and it isn't sold after all. Going to have a look tomorrow. Price is right, as long as the car is ok
