bert Posted on: 2014/8/11 8:50
Hi Gurus,Can anyone tell me what ratios are available for the H190 diff?Am running a 3.9 but finding it to be too short and having to grab 5th gear on the longer tracks.
Cheers

I know that a manual Gazelle had a 3.7:1 diff ratio. I don't know where you'd get the 3.5 ratio, maybe a 280c or 300c sedan, though they might be independent. Maybe it would be cheaper to get slightly taller tyres, depending on what size you're running at the moment.

Thanks everyone, looks like it will be taller tyres(trying to avoid)which will mean new guard flares with time being of the essence.Cheers

Silly question but what about going to a shorter ratio so that you don't need to go back to 2nd gear and end up using 5th more? Should give you more grunt through the mid range and might yield better results? provided it has enough grunt to pull through 5th

I know where your coming from Ange,i wish that could be the case. The thing is travelling at 118mph in 4th when we need to grab 5th and we know a sunnys aero is like a block of flats, the time and rpm lost at that speed is incredible.Other than initial departure 1st and 2nd are a waste of space(fry up)and we only use 3rd and 4th where we compete. As we know and as one of the guys has said...a taller tyre is the only way till i put a hi lux diff into it,but with a taller tyre comes width and new flares, such is life.I did,nt think there was an appropriate diff available but i,ll always ask first.Cheers
