Removing flywheel

Hey guys dose anyone have any tips on removing flywheels?tried on the weekend and they are on fuuuken tight,oh and the motor isn't in my ute.Tried ring spanner on one nut to the floor but it lifted the whole motor.

I use a length of rhs with holes drilled through to use the clutch mounting holes. The length of the bar acts like a breaker bar. I also use a breaker bar on my socket to loosen the crank bolts.
Just be careful if sumps full of oil and don't snap off the oil pressure sender.

Exactly right. If you don't have a power tool, then a long wrench (or pipe extension) will give you the leverage.
I use a flywheel stop like this, and pop the wrench handle with a hammer: ![]() But unfamilia's method is a better way. Two long bars, one to hold the engine, the other on the bolt. You can pull the bars towards towards each other, and it won't rock the engine (at least not too much). Something like this? ![]()

Mine were so tight the rattle gun wouldn't touch it (the old one), I used one bar to stop the motor turning wedged on the ground and a 1.5m breaker bar (pipe over the breaker wrench), bent the pipe to! Stupid tight.
