What head type are you after specifically? A H75 is a typical favourite for turbo applications as it has slightly larger combustion chambers. Though I think the performance improvement over say a H89 would be negligible.

Simon used a stock A14 head with turbo and made 160 HP. By contrast, naturally aspirated SCCA road racers use highly modified competition heads and only make 140-156 hp.
The H72/H75 has the same size CC chambers as H89, but it is open chamber (H89 is closed chamber). * H75: 31cc * H89: 29-31cc Datsun changed compression ratio for A-series engines by varying the piston dish (5 different dish sizes for A14 engines). Of A12/A13/A14/A14, only the H95 swirl head has a significantly larger chamber. See Chamber Size

Here in Japan they modify the H72 early round port head into many variations
one is a high port and the other a big round port either way you can use your stock A12 head and get 100kws atw with a simple well tuned turbo drawthrough or supercharged with 1.75 su The stock a12 heads have more flow than mini heads yet minis with cast iron head make 100kws atw with good boost from turbo or supercharger I would recommend you just refreshen your A12 and go for a toyota sc12 supercharer and 1.75 stromberg type SU good headers, igntion and good tuning. John Adelaide makes some nice pulleys and adaptors but would steer away from amr500 if you want good power as the sc12 matches capacity of the a12 and needs less rotation for good hp.

Summary:
* D recommends A12 head instead of A14 head * D recommends SC12 supercharger instead of turbocharger Who is John Adelaide?

from Jp dumb phone sorry
John Verban in Adelaide (keicarshop) Since the user is trying hard to get something done in a country with high tax duties and with possibility heads now are soft as some members have found and due for even more expenses and heart ache. Its perhaps easier to just boost the head he has with a more efficient supercharger or compatible size thats been proven on almost identical round port K engined toyotas.

Thanks for all the good answers!
Would like to go turbo, but supercharge is easier to get approved around here, and would sound gnarli with the right exhaust :D

you will need a square flat type manifold design with charger sitting as forward as possible to line up with front pulleys as the sc12 is big

Yes, square flat flange
You could use an adapter, but probably better to make a large-runner custom manifold ![]() And get the pulleys to line up, like this SC12 from a toyoda 4A-GZE engine ![]() You can view topic.
