#1 H165 LSD
COUP1200 Posted on: 2016/2/22 20:00
I know it's been a big topic here for years. The Nissan LSDs are so rare.
Has any one used the LSD kits made by traction concepts. There not very expensive & seem like a good alternative

Thanks

Sounds like a spring-loaded LSD instead of the conventional clutch-pack LSD. For an overview, see our tech article: Phantom Grip

Traction Concepts is Phantom Grip.

Same company.

Our H165's and H145's are small enough chunks of material I wonder why not one person has ventured out to machine LSD case bodies for these differentials?

Topgear made some torsen style LSD years ago - I managed to score a new one not used on a project, and yes they are great, better than the 1.5 way clutch type I got from Santora works Japan.
If some one decides to make them again I,m up for another for sure

I would see if I could machine a CLSD body for my 145 axle but the previous owner welded the spiders. This car is a bitch to U-turn in lol.

I could Scale down a R160 CLSD I have sittin on my bench.

I have a Nismo H145 LSD unit on the bench, if a talented machinist wants to have a crack at replicating it. or at least copy the dimensions into CAD [or similar] from which a CNC clone could be made etc.

cheers

R145 better idea! Keep it light, unless you need heavier duty. R145 fitted to N14 and Murano and many others, and both factory and Nismo LSD are available
