Hi Guys
We are constantly having issues bleeding the rear brakes.
Reckon its the bleeding nipple being at the lowest point so having trouble getting air out of the brake line.
Are there different wheel cylinder ?
How are you overcoming this problem ?

Is it possible that you have the wheel cyls on the wrong side?? The bleed nipples should be at the top.

Datsun 1200 rear brakes are supposed to be at the bottom of the drum (the adjuster is at the top)

This does not prevent or hinder the bleeding process

Wheel cylinders wrong sides hmmmmm.
Was thinking that but have another unmolested rear end with cylinders the same way.
Maybe that was stuffed up by others as well !!!

Wheel Cylinders are same Left and Right so cannot be put on "wrong side". What kind of issues are you having bleeding the rear brakes?

Bleed nipple is below brake line.
Bleed nipple should be above to make it easier to scavenge air in system.
Look at any other brake assembly bleeder is always at the top.

It doesn't cause problems for most mechanics -- the bleeding process will push air out of the line, even if it's pointed down

The problems I've had with bleeding are when using an assistant. Since I switched to one-man process I've had no problems. You might give it a shot: Brake Bleeding

If you clamp the flexible line at the diff then put your foot on the brake it should go rock hard. If it doesn't the problem is from the master cylinder. Excessive pumping on the master cylinder can damage the seals.
