My first post....Team McLeish Bros. will be racing a Datsun 1200 at El Mirage and Bonneville under SCTA-BNI sanctioning. Team McLeish has set over 135 land speed racing. We'll send pics of the effort. In the meantime we are selling the parts we don't need, bumpers, front clip, etc. on eBay under Datsun 1200 heading.

A Datsun 1200 holds ten landspeed records at El Mirage and two records at Bonneville:
* 1.4 liter class record: 139.8 mph
* 1.8 liter class record: 164.2 mph

Well, I'll be dipped...this is the 1200 that I bought the front clip from when the builder started in on the thing with an air chisel to bring it to this incarnation! The underpinnings used to support a Triumph GT6 body as wildly modified as this 1200. Front wheel drive, as I recall, with some marvellous/bizarre/fascinating engineering behind it. Go Datto!
