#1 Back with a Datsun, but thats still nissan right?

Hello there forum people. Just picked up a beautiful 1980 datsun 210. It's an automatic with the a14 and is completely stock and unmolested. Paints faded and a few surface rust spots but great looking for a 36 year old car. Interior is light blue with plaid seat covers and looks very clean. No stereo ever added so I think that might be my only mod for the time being. Have a few simple maintenance items to take care of but then will be driving as a daily hopefully. This is my first datsun vehicle but not my first nissan. I've owned a 96 infiniti g20 with sr20det and a 93 nissan nx2000 with gtir sr20det. Both cars were great and I loved the reliability and the fun they provided. I also own a 85 chevy camaro iroc clone. Doesn't get the best gas mileage so the datsun is hopefully the daily but can still be fun. I've been doing a lot of research over the past few weeks before I posted on here and have been very happy to see there are options out there to make the car a little better here and there yet still stay in the datsun/nissan family with the upgrades. I don't have pics yet but will post them up when I get a chance.

Yep, that's a Nissan alright. B310 is one of the best, reliable too although at 36 years takes a little maintenance and might need an occasional repair, but still a lot cheaper than $299 every month for a new econo-box

here is my last B310

It looks like your cars in a jy...Im sorry for your loss. Im banking on reliability but I do daily my camaro right now and I also have an 05 sentra for the girlfriend, so Im focusing more on the better gas mileage than anything else

On the mileage front if you can retrofit the 5 speed that would likely help. These can be made fun to drive without sacrificing the mileage; better brake pads, shocks and even add a set of sway bars.

My friends used to wonder how I got those couple of extra MPGs out my street cars, I always told them that they slow down to much for corners and then have to accerate back up to speed. Due note that I just wanted to go around corners faster, using less throttle to get back up to speed was a nice side effect.

OK back to your car; these things are very sturdy, stone axe reliable and easy to work on.

B310 Automatic got maybe 35 mpg highway?. The 80hp A14 with 5-speed might get around 40?

B310 5-speed got 47, but that was with a wimpy-accelerating 3.454 diff ratio and the wimpy 65hp A14

30mpg is double what my camaro is getting. So Im happy with anything north of that. If I can locate a 5spd, I'll be super happy.
