Hello
I had my datsun for 2years now. I have made few upgrades to the car however now I am thinking where I should take my baby to.
First upgrade was Weber carb upgrade.
Second I have put 14 inch wheels on it.
Third electric fuel pump upgrade.
Last thing I did was rewiring electric wires inside.

I would like to keep my car original as much as possible.
So engine swap is not desirable.
I currently have automatic transmission.
I would like to go to manual transmission. (deciding between 4 speed 's. 5 speed)
Sway bar is something considering but not on top of list.
Of any of the members can help me with some advice it will be deeply appreciated.

Yes, manual transmission will make huge difference in acceleration and increased fuel economy. 4-speed works very well. 5-speed is better for fuel economy, but 4-speed is faster acceleration. Both have the same top speed (90 mph). I drove my 1200 with 4-speed all the way to San Diego and back to Seattle

you are fortunate San Diego is one of the best places in USA to find Datsun parts. Start with Craigslist, check every other day. eBay is another place. Best of all is pick-n-pull, complete transmissions only $99
