Heads depending on condition 650-1000 is not uncommon
however if you are after performance the japanese use the old round port heads weld up the chamber as they are smaller and easier to achieve a modern race chamber also they fill up the ports and re-port them higher up for a straighter flow all topped off with 40mm in/ 33mm ex valves which are not the biggest but do what they have to do.

I've seen them as low as $250 for bare heads and upwards of $1200 for big valve ported heads.
A stock one in reasonable shape is likely to bring $400-$500. The tough bit is that those of us who use them (racers) have a spare or two by now so the demand isn't what it used to be. That's not to say they aren't in demand.

I bought a bare head from yahoo auctions but went through import monster so have fees added to the sale price.
Owes me $436 landed, but im now waiting 6 weeks shipping because im a cheapskate and went cheapest postage. I feel like i got a good deal. The only one i can see for sale here is $1150 on gumtree. So prices vary, but i think average is approx 800-1200 in complete working order.
