These should be able to be 3D printed these days.

3D printing still needs a lot of post processing to get the nice cosmetic finish. We actually do a fair bit of this at work for prototypes. Many hours go into making a 3D print look good enough, smoothing, breaking edges, filling, buffing etc. But yes, it can be done. The other critical thing with a 3D print is choosing a material that's up to the application, car interiors in Australia get very hot. Common FDM materials (PLA/ ABS) are not up to this task.

The other piece of the puzzle is getting 3D scans of the parts you want to print and cleaning up the point clouds to get high quality 3D models. Often you need to paint the part in primer to get a half decent scan. Or you can spend more time tidying up the scan file.

Great tools for prototyping/ reverse engineering. You can do a lot with a phone camera and some calipers (vernier or digital).

I'm currently having a rear b210 GX badge 3d printed as I couldn't find one anywhere. Will be interesting to see how it turns out

What sort of material/ process did you choose? Who'd you go to? Anything other than Polyjet we outsource at work since we have a Polyjet printer.

SLS glass reinforced Nylon is one of the more durable material/ process combinations but it has a rough powdery finish due to how it's made. Has some surface porosity to. Takes some time smoothing then priming and repeating. The thinner the primer the better. It tends to shrink a bit over time.

What ever it is you can improve thermal performance by stress relieving the print. I'm working on setting up a new FDM printer to do Nylon, slowly putting together covers for it to control the build temperature better. When I get somewhere with it I might make a post on it. I'm planning on printing parts for my Datsun with it.
