#1 Rebuilding shocks / strut
pager Posted on: 2018/12/30 9:38
Attempting to rebuild the front shocks tomorrow. Can’t find my service manual anyway so just going to wing it. I have read up on the wiki all the info I can. Going to use dextron 3 But not sure how to measure out the fluid to determine which type of shock it is. Given the amount of fluid around the top of the shock I would say a good deal of it has leaked out. Any tips or does someone have a copy of the page in the repair manual they can send?

The brand is stamped on the strut near the top

This one says AMPCO (Atsugi Motor Parts Company)

Hey ddgonzal thanks for all the information help. Pull the struts out of the car only to find that somebody had replaced them with cartridges. Hopefully this information might help someone else
