Mitsubishi owned by Nissan

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is 1/3 owned by Nissan and 2/3 owned by Mitsubishi Group according to wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_Motors
I seem to recall it took orders from the automobile Ministry for some time, which was fairly common in Japan. If a company took government arranged loans then they would have a big say, like the time they asked Nissan to build Datsun 1200s in the Fuji Heavy Industries factory In 2004 Mitsubishi joined the Global Engine Alliance to build the World Engine (4B1) which replaced the Sirius 4G6 (Lancer engine). By the way, I've heard that KIA actually makes the best version of the World Engine

I dont know there is plenty of good tech in the 4B1 turbo model
Mitsubishi is mainly Gov owned but they struggle in the auto section which was derived from their military vehicles supposedly. Fuji industries is a strange beast which also struggles hence selling a large stake of Subaru to Toyota. Subaru used to be like Toyota a private company started by a Family/Friends effort. Probably the most ambitious effort from such an underdog I recommend you watch its documentary its very touching.

yeah the 4B1 is good stuff. I used to be sceptical of the engine sharing but really each version is quite different (Mitsubishi, Hyundai/KIA, Chrysler)
Toyota owns 16.5% of Subaru, resulting is such projects as * Camry built in the Subaru factory in Indiana USA * Subaru jointly designed the 86 and builds them in a Subaru factory Can u point me to the Subaru documentary? I've owned Subarus for 25 years. Datsuns for 27 You can view topic.
