Steering column

Hey guys,
can anyone tell what year the ute steering column went to calapsable.I have just recently bought one from Japan and was thinking it would be calapsable but it isnt. Cheers.

not sure on local manufacture, but the Barrel Bros LWB 1200 ute is an '86 model and they had to change it's steering column to make it roadworthy...
I think it might be about when the Aussie spec 1200 utes went to a plastic grille, the edges of the taillight surrounds were painted black, and they copped a H165 that aussie spec utes got better steering columns...

Hey Guys,
as above i have bought a new steering column/Box which is non calapsible,so just wondering can i put the calapsible part off my original steering column on the new non calapsible column/box,has anyone done this? Cheers.

No, I don’t think so. The design is completely different.. the one you have has a solid shaft and would need a section taken out to replicate the collapsible section. These key parts would probably need to then be certified by the relevant engineer before use.
