3.0 liter Datsun VG30 beating 2.5 liter JZ? Sure, but waht about a 2JZ? I'vr heard they can handle 800hp with stock internals

VG fits in Datsun 1200 too

2jz is later tech than VG
but here now in Japan a 2jz
is worth 5-8k usd and 1jz 3-4k usd
for a stocker. The vg can handle 800hp
with stock internals as it does here
in this 300zx and price of these beasts
are still very cheap and in my eyes better
than the latest 400z.

You could make a 10,000rpm all day VG
using VG33 block with VG20 crank 69.7mm stroke

2.8L would be fairer to the JZ but way bigger
bores for bigger valves more breathing and very
short rods would be a high rpm demon.
