when i use Paint shop pro 7 all I have to do is go to the file menu and click save as, then u should be able to select the file type and save it again (depending on the program u use)

Pretty much any graphics program should do it.
ACDsee does it. PaintShop. Photoshop. Etc.

Go onto www.c-net.com
Then click on Downloads at the top of the screen and then select graphics and there should be a whole heap of shareware type programs for you to use.

Or you could use Kazaa and download one of the above mentioned programs which may or may not be already registered...

Microsoft Paint that comes with Windows 98 and Windows XP will do it. Use the "File Save As" menu, and change the "type" to gif or jpeg.

JPEG is the new Internet standard, generally preferable to GIF unless you are making animations.

Paint, doesn't do it for me, it will only save as .bmp. But anyway, i'll get paint shop and see how that goes.
