How much oil do different a-series engines take?
Wattage
Posted on: 2003/5/29 6:08
I know, I'm lazy, so I was just wondering if anyone knew off the top of thier heads how much engine oil an a14/a15 would take? Also, while on the topic, do the a12's take the same amount?
Thanks, Leigh

All the RWD models are close to the same: about 3.5 quarts (~3 liters), depending on the filter. The FWD models might be considerably different. Here is some official specs:
B110 A12: 3.3 liter with filter B210 A14 3.9 liter with filter (1975) B210 A14 3.6 liter with filter (1976)

I seem to remember a figure of 2.8 litres without filter - a very good reason for an extended sump (wings) with baffles and/or a windage tray

fill the filter, then stick 3 litres of oil in the sump, that's what i've always done for my a series engines, but they've all been rear wheel drive cars.
