Yeah, my stock A15 used to hit 160....would probably go further if it had another gear.

Maybe your exhaust/intake filter, or petrol systems are not up to the task.
Get the car on a Dyno and look at the air/fuel ratios when the car is under high load. Pushing a box like 1200 (although a very charismatic box) at 100mph is not an easy task ![]() Chris

South Africa eh? The intake temps would be pretty high wouldnt they? Whip the air filter off and chuck in some decent quality octane boost and clean, see how she goes then, maybe a cheap fix. Thats my 2 cents anyway. Dont drive on any dirt roads without the filter tho.

I had my absolutly stock a12 out to 90 mph today, just find a hill and I reckon it will make 100mph just depends on weather you want to keep your car or blow it to pieces.
the hill wasn't as steep as youd think though lol

can you give more details; such as will it pull six grand in third and what rear gear are you running , also have you checked the timing and is the disty in good shape. I can tell you from racing my 1200 that with a mild motor it would flatten out in top gear and 90 MPH really was it , getting going slightly down hill and it would go just over 100. The stock gear box will have the motor drop something like 2800 RPM's between 3 rd and 4th. If you do not rev the death out of it in third it will take miles before it will go that extra 5 mph. One more thing check the plugs - what color are they? if the jetting is off this will cause your problem
