Hello everyone!!
I bought the 1200 parts car on e-bay a few weeks ago...and thanks to fellow club members 1200Rocket and Rallytwit the car can roll with the addition of competition leaf springs, u-bolts, nuts and lower shock mounts. Once again thanks!!! This car had the I.D. tag on the firewall removed and also the one by the door. Damn...I hope this wasn't a stolen car!! The V.I.N. on the dash reads LB110-970015 The California D.M.V. probably doesn't have a record for the car anymore. More than 7 years have passed since the car was registered according to the previous owner. California only keeps records on the computer for 5 years...that is why I believe someone out there is enjoying my Mazda R100 that was stolen in front of my house more than 8 years!! Leosnake

Only 5 years? Washington State keeps records online for more than 10 years, maybe even 20.
Here is the USA specifics: Coupe 1971-1972 LB110-640001 to LB110-975540 1973 LB110-975541 and up Sedan 1971 LB110-247023 to LB110-341000 1972 LB110-341001 to LB110-477892 1973 LB110-477893 and up For example, my sedan is LB110-423668, and is a 1972.

I belive I have a South African imported 1200 factory GX 4 door. Anyone think they are qualified to ID the VIN from that one? I'll take a photo of the VIN plate on the weekend and see if anyone can work out what the hell it is!
