#1 Electric Cooling

Great site, Best ever for Datos.
I want to fit an elec fan on my 1200 ute running an A15. & I hate those ugly adjustable thermo fan switch units that go into the Rad hose.
What do I have to do to wire the fan to a sender switch?
Will I need to get a seperate switch?
And if so What ,Where, Temp rating?
I am getting the Rad recored, should I have the Rad people fit a ferule to the bottom tank for the switch?
Or will the switch work just as well in the motor ? Where in the motor?
Thanks in advance for any help.

go to your favorite auto parts store, and have them show you the catalog for the brand of electric fans that they carry.
almost all companies offering them also have a pre wired setup that comes with a temp sensor a relay and the wiring with instalation instructions.
here we can get a brand named HAYDEN, thier's is easy to understand, easy to install and reasonably priced.

Yeah Davies Craig is a great brand for fans, you can buy the thermostatic switches separate they are about $50 (for the switches) otherwise just run your fan through a relay hooked up to a switch.

i have a radiator sitting in my shed which had standard thermos and has a plug into the radiator which im pretty sure was the temp sender/switch for the fan

i had the rad recoed and everything but run it with a mech fan, i still have the elec fan to fit it though

the car overheated when i had this radiator
on but im now pretty certain that was because i mounted it too low and possibly had the wrong thermostat too

anyway if ya want to buy it, ill take 50

it was off some 2ltr twin cam alfa

im in bayswater

g'day 1200rally
Sounds like an even better idea, hows friday night or saturday sound ?
you'd think a 2lt alfa would need more cooling than a datto.
give me a ring with details
