i recon that it would be a great idea if we started a recommended products and services directory and have a nominated person for each state.......

Could work really good and may even get this sites members some trick discounts !!!!

We can already do that I guess by posting a message that clearly states the bargains when we get them.

Remember that the site is in financial difficulty already. No need to be putting extra pressure on the owners for more work, when they are struggling to make the money to survive at the moment.

I see it as a good idea, but it needs an easy to manage interface to minimise the work required by the site owners. Remembering that we need to avoid "idiot" users from abusing the right to make comment on these businesses.

This being the case, and understanding that there are a lot of people that benefit from this site, why cant we help by organising an event or day trip somewhere in each state to raise money to keep this site going ????

I recon that wouldn't be that hard, but then again i am not the owner nore do i have an understanding of the financial commitments of this site ??

I along with other appreciate the benefits of not having advertising hammered at us with banners etc etc, but maybe that is something that the owners have to think about if we the USER'S dont want to stick our hands up for something that we all love.

I love this site along with others, i think that it would be a HUGEEEEE shame to see it fall into financial hardship.

again, not a bash up..... just a thought and if i can help any any way i shall........

Excellent idea,
With an area/state managersussing out proposals before confirming anything you would sort out the greater %age of scams.
There are so many datto bashes /meetings, cruises etc. I am sure that a gold coin (Aussie) in the tin for the site management would be ok by most.
You don't want to push away those that aren't too flush at that time.
It needs carefull planning and reasonable controls to avoid suspicious types pointing the finger we can't afford premature enthusiasm to spoil the site/group.
