Please tell me your garage is in Melbourne. I'm meant to race my 1200 Coupe next weekend...but as I blew the head gasket at Sandown a week ago I'm a bit put out for an engine.
I can see you live in Sydney, was just dreaming there for a second. Pity, but thanks to the Melbourne cup I have Monday, Tuesday off work - so hopefullly I can source a cheap engine, to last one race, then stuff under another 1200 for road car duties.

I guess that would be me! And the lap times were very suprising indeed. Running stiffer springs and lowering blocks on a stocker 120Y 1.2L motor I was running times in the 1:40's - the lowest I was clocked at was 1:42...but not sure on the accuracy. (all the times were done by mates in the pits). Even so it meant the little 1200 was running a lot quicker than some of the 2L turbo rice out there. It was all in the cornering speed, I could hold it flat off the back straight and just hang on, where most other cars had to brake at the 150m mark. I could carry 140-150 through there, many other cars were pulling up to about 100 - 130. Small world hey?

I know of a disabled girl who needs a well running A12, we were looking for an A14, but we can't afford to be too choosy. It's for her 120Y. My old man does a lot of work with charity groups etc.
My old man could probably pick it up sometime this week, or next weekend, if you know it's not a bad engine. It'd be going to a good cause. My old man would be putting it in this girls car for nothing. Anyway please PM me, and I'll get my old man to give you a call. This girl is forced to drive a '73 Celica while her Datto is out of order. So that's a good reason to help out. Cheers, Chris.
