#1 1200 sill panels
ca18det_man Posted on: 2004/1/5 3:35
Hi Guys Im replacing the drivers side sill panel on my 1200 as I found a bit of rust in there :( I replaced the passenger side 5 years ago its still good.
The answer Im after is the 1200 ute and 1200 coupe the same sill profile at the front near guard. I can no longer get drivers side sill genuine but can get 1200 ute genuine nissan for just over $100 Im 99% sure the only difference is in the length can anyone confirm this??
thanks in advance Andrew

Hey andrew I know where you can get sills (non genuine) from. This is the place where I got mine from fit great

Sill Outers $35 code: RP168
Rear 1/4 $25 code: RP167

Contact
Craig Vayne
Sheetmetal Fabrication
41223921

He's up in QLD maryborough I think, cost $40 for a sill and rear quarter to be sent down.

Hope that helps
cheers

Just go to a sheet metal shop with a cardboard template of shape(out side) and a bit more than you need, thats all i do at work.A few secs with a tape and press, all foldded up ready to weld in place.0.9mm is thick enough 1.2mm if you can not weld to well with a mig

Andrew

Youre right. The only difference is length, the ute sill is about 75mm shorter.

c.v. sheetmetal make sections for most datsuns and they fit perfectly too. ring him and ask for a price list or check out his website. i think it's www.craigvaynesheetmetal.com.au or something real close to it.

thought, i'd look into this a little, since the previous owner has done the old bog treatment to both my sills, the whole length of the car. Lazy.

Anyway, here's the address for Craig Vayne: http://www.workin4u.com/rustpanels/

funny, this is the town i am from too, probably knew the guy once maybe?
