I've never touched a weber.
And I've never had a float blow up on me in a standard carbie but thats cause I've always put solid ones. My friends that got me onto boosted A series engines always warned me though. They told me stories of the floats blowing up on them, they said its the loudest bang you would ever hear and you #### your self cause at the same time the car floods and dies. I couldnt say how much boost you could safely run without it happening but I wouldnt run more than 10 psi, and who knows how strong a webber float is. Isn't there a bloke on here from Tas with a blowthough webber setup in a 1000 wagon? maybe he could tell of his experiences.

yeah thats what i was thinking, putting a solid one in, but where do i get em,
i am not boxing the entire carby, and based on your advice (10-12psi will blow the seals), im going to run 7psi and see what happens

i used a plastic black float that came in the webber 32-36 when i got it. it stood up to one bar without collapsing. i used a gas hat off a falcon which had this on its lpg system. all worked a treat, hope this helps you.

can you explain a bit more about the gas hat, i was looking for something like this, but sort of have decided to chop up a carbie box i already had, it was for a full carby box on a hitachi and the 32/36 wont fit in there
