my bro-in-law stiched material over himself,not sure on details but the dash looks perfect and you dont realise its not stock until it's pointed out to you, if intrested i can find out a bit more about how much work was involved, would have been dirt cheap though

There is a company in Brissy that do dashboards, I have not used them but a mate of mine had his s600 dash done.
He was very pleased with there work and that is saying something as he has a very high standard.

just a note on keeping your dash and any other similar surface looking good.
i was put onto a product called "dash" by a trimmer who did a flat cream cover for my ute.
its a milky looking liquid with a distinctive smell, that worked well on all interior surfaces.... heaps better than Armour- all which tends to dry them out after a bit.

on dash restorations (this was about 3 years back), the guy that painted my ute knew a trimmer who would restore and paint dash boards for about $200. cant think of names though....

might sound a bit dodgey, but I just got a dash-mat from Supercheap today. I cut the old cracked dash pad away and contacted the dash mat on. It looks great. As Aunger dont do a Datsun 1200 mat I used a HQ-HZ mat and cut it accordingly. It cost me all of $39.00 Of course if you want a factory look thats another thing. I believe Dattodude was getting some dashes restored...you might want to PM him. I think the going rate is around $180.00

$39 buck, you got ripped off, i went the sissy route and spent $8 at spotlight (yes they do sell usefull stuff too) $6 on black vynil a (leather look) and $20 n purple trimming (to match the car) and i borrowed some pins from my mums craft kit. 30mins and its ok.

Yeh DIY is the way to go, Ive retrimmed all the dashs in all the dattos ive had. Its really not very hard at all. bit of vinyl, bit of glue, hot air gun and your laughin. I cant stress how easy this is to do.

Their's a place in WA called restorers hotline who remake dashpads. Its done the same way as it was originally.

Mines getting done at the moment. But it is expensive at $250.00 However because they are vachume formed you can customise your dash as I did.

retriming your dash your self is fine if the pad itself isnt warped. My pad is so badly cracked and warped that I think that it might be a throwaway. Im not sure if minbe can even be repaired by the pros. Still, if it is just cracked, then yeah diy is the go, its not that hard.
