#1 Not your common A-series intake manifold

This is something I fabricated about 15 years ago. I was drag racing my '77 B210 Honeybee, and needed a performance induction system. I was too cheap to buy twin side drafts, and was into the big V8 stuff back then, so I copied the tunnel ram intakes that I saw on the pro drag cars. I simply built half of a tunnel ram manifold, with a removable top so I could contour the inside of the intake with epoxy to allow the mixture to flow evenly into each cylinder without puddling. On top is a Chevy Rochester 2 bbl. carb from a Chevy V8. I then added a single fogger type nitrous oxide nozzle to spray the plenum during a 1/4 mile run. This was home brewed engineering at its best. It took some trial and error to get the nitrous jetted properly. In any case, the car initially ran 20.6 seconds at 62 mph when it was all stock. After gutting the car of weight and adding this induction system to the A14, it ran 14.07 at 97.69 mph. Not bad for street tires, open stock 3.70 diff, and stock clutch!

What did it run off the nitrous?

I only tried it once, and after running nearly 14 flat on the bottle, a 15.20 was not nearly as much fun.

still impressive from a 20.60

Not using the standard carb. It is a Rochester carb.

I like it, go the thinking outside the square!

Was the engine built internally?

Sorry to change subject but what are the brake lines made of or are they covered with rubber hosing?.

Ive heard about epoxy coating or something similar and does it work well for the street?

I heard it decreases inlet volume size?
