Does anyone know of a reputable roll cage builder in the " Sydney " area [besides Bond Roll Bars].
Benny.

try getting in touch with NSW IPRA (Improved Production Racing Association), or a local Rally club. There's gotta be heaps of places in Sydney.

L18,
How do you find the L series suited to racing ? Just starting my next car and have toyed with the idea of a L20 for 2 litre proddy but was originally going to go for the SR20. Thought maybe a few $$$ might be saved by picking up one of the motors that have had bulk $$ spent on them (that u never get back !!) which are the victim of an upgrade. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated Cheers

Hi Benny,
When I rang around, everyone said they could do it but everytime there was a shipment of CDW tube (cold drawn welded tube is specified for FIA and CAMS and is only made in Japan apparently) come into the country, Bond would basically buy it all. Anyway John Taylor usually made his own ...he may have some CDW aorund or could put you in touch.

We have CDW on the shelf because of that very import problem. Not so much Bond getting it all but because Blackwoods used to carry it and hold big stocks but no longer - hence one less distributor and same demand
Anyway, let me know if u want more.Cheers

Hey R-fast I wish I knew you did that!! Anyway too late now, but maybe you can help me anyway. I need 2x door intrusion bars and a harness brace across the back hoop stays. What is the best way about getting that made up by you?

Hey Converted,
yes it's always the same - we always find another option after the event . We only really do welded cages (you have to get the clamps from Bond so the cost is not worth us to do 1 off bolt in pieces ). Apart from that, we would need the car to shape and fit the bars. I'll bet your cage and car is already painted (Murphy's law !!!!). Cost would depend on access and degree of difficulty as small size changes in material are negligable but time spent in difficult areas eats up the $$$. Price however would not be extreme as we both race and will help out genuine people where we can. Cheers You can view topic.
