one of those molded carpet mobs used to make custom consoles for the 1200s. I bought one years ago for my first car - they even asked if you were going to mount gauges in it, so they could cut the holes and trim around it properly. Had a console bin behind the handbrake lever and everything. No idea wht happened to the bloddy thing though, and I've got no idea if they still make them. I think it was Tru-Fit carpets??? do they even still exist these days?

If you cant get an original setup,
A mate of mine has a 1400bakkie, he used a 1976-78 toyo corona 200gsl console, these set ups had the Radio installs in them originally, but he put in meters\guages on it he said that there was very little mods done to get it in, and I think it looks better than the original ones found on the dattos.

I've got a 1200 coupe centre console. I just took it out. Will sell it. I took it out because it makes it feel as if there is heaps more room. Plus its better to change gears without this piece of plastic next to your hand.
