If we are talking about a 1200. Then there's probably less than 5 of these in Australia (I'd bet money that there's less than 10).

9-10k sounds about right. Depends what quality of job they guarantee.

This would be illegal in NSW. So do you legality homework before committing to the task. $10,000+ is a lot of money to for a car that can only be driven up and down the driveway.

But if you can get it going, good stuff. It'll be a lot of fun.

Cheers,
Chris.

you sure can, you just have to find the right engineer.

same guy who has engineered and had fully registered 13b turbos in 1200 utes and at least 3 sr20 turbo utes. they are out there, you just have to find them.

There is a Mazda 1000 13B Tallport, large Bridgeport, Quad throttle body injection, Haltec computer, fresh Tiger Mica paint, powder coated chassis... it has it all. and thats going for $3,800.

oh yeah and if anyone is interested there is a Datsun1200 Ute, neat new paint job. nice magz, bonet scoup... for sale. North Brisbane way. standard A12 motor...

I was lead to believe that sr20 turbos were illegal in 1200's. But i spose if u can find someone to plate it for you, then thats half your battle.

The best person to talk to would be Kev Rowley. He does conversion into 1200's. I can give you his number if you like.
10 grand is pretty much right, give or take a few.

You can have a fully street legal 1200 with a 2 litre turbo if you find the right guy.
My ute was fully engineered and regod with a FJ20T in NSW.
