#1 Wheel Spacers - Need Advice Please
matty Posted on: 2004/10/17 21:43
Is it ok to use wheel spacers if you have upgraded the wheel studs to longer and stronger ones or are they still evil?
Thanks Matty

Matty,
depends how thick as to how evil they may be ! I think 5mm may be okay with no mods, 10mm with your stud upgrade is probably okay too. I have 28mm spacers but they are bolted on to your original studs and they have a set of offset studs to bolt your wheel to. Look great and 100% safe. Have pics if you want and can sell you a set if they are what you need.
Cheers

ARP makes 2.5" studs rated at 190,000psi shear strength. I have installed these, with 25mm spacers, on 3 different cars, all with ZERO problems. And all of these cars were/are driven VERY HARD.

If you do it right, there's no problems. If you do it dodgy...

can't remember which model, but one of the late 80's, early 90's skylines has real long bolts and used to be under $2.00 a bolt

yeah - those billet aluminum spacers cost $200-300 US!
use them only as a last resort.

I used those billet adaptors on my car when I wanted to use a set of wheels from a different make. They were great ,widened my track as a bonus and the car looked dead sexy.
