Hi all.
I want to put on a sunroof on my 1200delux, so I was just wanted to know if any of you have done this, and what does it look like. Do you guys have some pics? I personally was thinking about putting in a twin glass flip type.

Unless you get an all steel electric or wind back out of an old fairlane or mercedes,I think they look like crap and devalue your car.
I would ditch the whole idea if I were you

Yeh you guys are right. I think I was a bit hasty on putting one on.
Anyway, after sleeping on it, I decided, to drop the idea. The reason I wanted one is because I saw a 1200sedan with a twin flip s\roof, and damn, it looked pretty sporty and smart.

![]() The novelty of this sunroof never wore off. It was a canvas/rubber type and was surprisingly water tight. Yes it would leak if you sprayed right at it with a water hose, but in a downpour it would not. I had it open anytime it was not raining. It totally opened up an otherwise cramped cabin. It did eventually crack and leak. By the time I found a good replacement top, this car was gone. For all the positives, I don't think I could ever bring myself to cut the roof on my current sedan.

the less holes you cut into a rust prone datsun body, the better i say.

and they all/many look like crap.
My car looked like it was wearing a toupee. But, damn, it was sure nice to drive around on a warm night with the windows down and the lid open.

It can be done nicely. Just keep a good seal, and maybe two braces fore and aft of the hole.
