Can you have dual exhaust? Why not, millions of cars do.

In certain engine configurations dual exhaust increases power due to the way the exhaust pulses come out of the engine. Pretty much any V8 benefits from it.

Performance inline 4 cylinder engines don't use dual exhaust. So probably means there is no performance advantage.

Yep,

I'gve noticed many guys using these duel setups on staright, inline motor for looks, and for that sporty tone.

However some of the perfomance exhaust centres here in SA, claim that one can get a bit more horse power, {dont know how true though}

Anyway I personally think that V motors are best suited with these set ups, and remember when a car is manufactured, all these are taken into consideration as to the best perfomance and lifespan of a motor.
So I would suggest just put on extractors and nice looking tailpipe is you want a sporty look and tone, with a few more h\power.

I've often thought about a dual set up on a Datty, but need to be convinced about the benefits. A free flowing exhaust will release a couple of extra horses, but will probably suffer a slight decrease in torque. You can get a nice note from a single two inch system.

Dual exhaust on an inline motor is worthless, just go with a larger single exhaust. There's lots of exhaust systems out there nowadays that go 2, into 1, and back into 2 pipes...doing that gives no advantage unless its a V engine and it's got a crossover/H pipe. You'll pay more money to do more than 1 pipe, it weighs more thus slowing you down, and doesn't get you any faster, so why bother?!!

In V-style motors, using duel exhaust pipes gives more high end power. A single bigger bore pipe will give more torque.
I'm not sure how this would go on a lil 4-banga but for street use a bigger bore single system would be better.

Not always true. "Upgrade" dual exhausts give less torque cause people put such large pipes on. Factory installs use more appropriately-sized pipes, to fit the torque curve of the engine. On a V8 dual exhaust will give more torque than singles. The crossover is a relatively new thing, they started with H-pipe now they are using X-pipes.

And it's not so much because it's a V engine. The more cylinders, the more useful it is due to the way the cylinders pulse. It also has to do with the firing order somewhat. Performance sixes -- from Porsche flat six to Honda V6 -- use dual exhaust.

yo all your advice is good but i want to know about weather i can do the duel exhust and if it will have bad conciqences not for performance but for looks

Bad conciquences in the looks department is all up to you mate, you know the deal...each to their own.
But if you are doing it all for looks then it would be a lot cheaper to just split the pipe after the diff.
Personally i recon it'll look sweet get some pics of it if you do it.
cheers Elliott
