The throwout bearing is bad. Got to remove the transmission or engine to replace it.

The thrust bearing is inside the engine, isn't it?
The throwout bearing is on the clutch lever arm. Nissan calls it the "release bearing". It's #4 in this picture: Clutch

Serious problem? Not if the sound went away. If it returns, and if gets worse, then you might re-consider. No worries.
"Thrust bearing" is also the term used for the middle crankshaft bearing ofthe A-series engine. It controls the fore-to-aft play of the crankshaft. So keep in mind the word has two meanings depending on which country you are in. You can view topic.
