200b struts ----> 120y

i have found a 200b in a nearby reserve/the highway roadside scrub, its burned out but the front half still has good. is the strut/brake conversion much the same as the stanza to 120y?
and are L20's good for anything (other than selling the bits on ebay, manifolds, rockercover, etc.) i think it might be a bit heavy for the 120y. any thoughts would be good as its FREE!!

There are three diferent brake setups on these that i know of.
The first is found on cars up to about '79 or so & the brakes are the imported Japanese ones. Next came the first of the Aussie made Girlock units, followed by the improved Girlocks. All are supposed to be good, so grab the whole strut assemblies while you can, then figure out what you can use later, then sell /trade/ or give away what you don't use. The gear lever on the late Japanese gearbox in 200B's will fit the Bluebird five speed, which then makes one of these gearboxes a true bolt in job as the gear lever was shaped to clear everything in the car perfectly. It sure works for me. The engine is an L20b [the L20 was a six cylinder] & the heads are supposed to be good. Hopefully someone will add to this.

yeah i thought it was an L20b couldnt remember when i got home though, unfortuantly the gearbox is auto and from the firewall back is burnt to ####ty ash stuff, but the bay is in good condition i might grab the head and cam and stuff might get a few bob for them manifolds and the rest are all good.
its amazing what you find when you go walkin through the bush isnt it...

yeah went and looked at it again and the calipers say girlock in one of the risen bumps.
just wondering could i keep my 120y struts and fit the calipers and rotors to it, and will the master cylinder bolt onto my booster or would i need an adapter plate made up?

the 120Y booster and one of the 200B master cyliders bolt to it, i will check when i get home as i am doing this converison now. the discs and calipers bolt onto the stanza strut if you can find them and they also bolt into the 120Y using the 120Y strut tops, which i thknk is your best bet.
any pictures of your Y on the site?

So what is involved in bolting a pair of Stanza struts to a 120y?
Will the stanza Booster/master cyl fit a non boosted 120y? Do the stanza struts increase the 120y track?
