depending on where you take it - 10k should juuuuuuuust get you into a std ex-front-cut SR20DET with nissan computer.
remember, you'll need a brake upgrade, diff upgrade, fuel system and exhaust.

What about a turbo'd CA18. Would that work out any cheaper? How quick would my ute go?

i just did the CA18DET conversion on my ute and spent much more than 10K but i got alittle carried away.
It can be done for 10K with a front cut standard computer and so on and you will be happy with the power for awhile. It should be able to run a high 13sec 1/4 in standard trim. There is nuthing wrong with CAs they responed realy well to modifications so once you wallet recovers from the shock of the conversion cost you can get started on bigger and better things.
