Mate, big ups to you for doing this to your ride.
But you can keep them. I hate power windows. If you ever find yourself upsidedown under water, you'll know where I'm coming from.

It only ever needs to happen once.

I got the motors out of a Daewoo Cielo of all places. It required pretty extensive modification of both the Datsun and Daewoo parts and some metal needed to be cut from the door. I have some pics and i plan to post a whole bunch once my little project is finished.

Just once so far.
With the weight of the car pushing on the roof, the doors won't open. they reckon drowning is a peacefull way to go. I found that clawing at doorhandles, in a blind panic, and trying to remove a seatbelt quite the opposite. luckily the windsheild broke when we rolled, so there was a way out. It was lightly snowing too, so the water was nice and toasty warm.

I LOVE wind up windows now. i wouldn't own a car with power ones.

This may not be the first, but was done in the late 80s:

Discussion: real Power Windows, not a kit
