He wants your mags AND your money?
If he is overpaying you with some sort of cheque, then make sure you are paid in full, & that the funds actually reach your account before you part with ANYTHING. There is a scam going around where a buyer send an overpayment in the form of some sort of dud cheque. You send the surpluss somewhere then find that your payment aint worth a brass razoo. The simple two step process. 1. Get paid, make sure funds are secure in your account 2. Complete transaction. Deduct any legitimate out of pocket expenses. Honest traders will understand & will wait, crooks will pressure you to move quick.

I can't imagine why someone in america would need to have anything go through nigeria. As a general rule anything involving nigeria is shady.

I have had this same situation twice before....exactly the same story......Bottom line is, they are trying to rip you off, and are not genuine buyers. Ignore them, and they will go away...or string them along for a while and have some fun, just don't give out any personal details or send them ANY money.
If they are genuine buyers, tell them to set-up a PayPal account...and you can do the same....transfer the money that way....I bet they wont do it, or they will have an excuse why not.....if that's the case...brush 'em.

I've heard of a lot of scams and most have something to do with Nigeria.

Same for me!
The wanted me to order headlights, front struts, bumpers etc. and ship it to Nigeria. It was a US company with a branch in Nigeria. The wanted to pay with 3 different Visa and Master Cards. I callled Bank Card Campany. This company is responsible for all credit card transactions in Belgium. They refused to guarantee the deal. This speeks for itself! You can view topic.
