#1 jerking problem?
nicholas Posted on: 2005/2/9 5:23
hey guys with my volksan i've got a problem when doing between 60km/h and 90km/h the car jerks, just a light jerk but you can feel it! this problem has only started since i put sone -ve camber on it, and when i put people in the car i gets worse. It's only when i'm on the gas lightly that it happens if i lift off it goes away, but it only happens between 60-90 in 3rd and 4th gear

Can anyone shed some light? Open in new window

You may need to reengineer your rear suspension. Sounds like the drive shafts universal joints are "binding up". At speed, the rear of the car might get pushed down due to the volkswagen's aerodynamics.

The fact that it gets worse with more people in the car, gives support to my theory.

Raise the back for a little while and see if it continues.
